Lake Calhoun, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is a popular destination for sailing enthusiasts. However, it's important to note that in 2018, the lake was officially renamed to Bde Maka Ska, which is its original Dakota name, though the surrounding parkland is still commonly referred to as the Lake Calhoun area.
Sailing on Lake Calhoun/Bde Maka Ska offers a picturesque setting with beautiful views of the Minneapolis skyline. There are several options for accessing sailing opportunities on the lake:
Calhoun Yacht Club: The Calhoun Yacht Club, located on the southwest corner of the lake, offers sailing programs, boat rentals, and sailing instruction for both adults and youth. They have a fleet of sailboats available for members and guests.
