Description
"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me:
I lift my lamp beside the golden door."
As we approach the 4th of July holiday, I want to remember all the things that make America great. I want to remember the sacrifices of all those that gave up everything from their mother country to move to America to partake in the great experiment.
And I want to remind everybody that freedom isn't free!
God bless America!

I lift my lamp beside the golden door and send the ones first here…to Live on reservations in despair …forever more
Wayne Moran replied:
All of my children worked on the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota. We have a sense of the poverty and despair. The system is very broken.

A beautiful and powerfully-true statement about our great country. The angle from which you took the photo emphasizes the greatness and pride this statue represents. Yes, God bless America! L/F
